THE KEYS TO SUSTAINABLE HAPPINESS PARTS 1 & 2
It can be very easy to have a thin surface happiness in the short term by taking the ‘easy way out’ and merely postponing problems. Of course this not sustainable in the long term because those problems still come back to bite us, often having got worse over time. Furthermore that type of happiness is paper thin and doesn’t satisfy us deeply or for very long. Whereas in sustainable happiness we:
a) use wisdom and appropriate techniques to keep our spirits up while we cope with adversity.
b) solve our problems as quickly and efficiently as possible.
c) thus become free to get on with things that bring deeper happiness over the long term.
There are many keys to sustainable happiness. The first two are:
a) Resilience. With which we cope better with problems and reduce their negative effect on us. Thus enabling us to fully face them in order to be better at solving them.
b) Recharge. With which we keep our spirits up while working on solving our problems so that we can retain as much of a positive outlook as possible even during adversity.
Together these form a virtuous circle which make solving problems much easier, quicker and more effective. Therefore it is recommended to attend both parts on the 7th and 14th of May, although benefit can still be gained from attending just one.
