Yoga for Beginners

25th June 2018 6:00 pm - 25th June 2018 7:00 pm 18 Cowgate, Peterborough PE1 1NA, UK

Have you ever thought you would like to take up yoga but think that you are not flexible enough? Well, that may be a reason to start.

Yoga is accessible to everyone, it has a rich history spanning over 5,000 years and is a powerful tool to help mind, body and spirit.
There are absolutely loads of benefits, here are just a few:

Calmer, relaxed state of mind
Stronger, more flexible body
Better posture
Greater ability to deal with stress
And more………………………………….

This beginners 6 week course is open to anyone who has not tried yoga before, or those who are wishing to get back to basics. You will learn some basic principles and poses (asanas) of yoga, together with warm up postures, breath-awareness and breath practices (pranayama), mindfulness and relaxation. You will learn basic postures and some Sanskrit names.

You will also be taught correct alignment and how to adapt postures to suit your body, using props if necessary, so that you can safely enjoy the benefits yoga has to offer.

This course teaches gentle yoga in a way that is not competitive – in fact, yoga is not in any way competitive and differs from exercise classes in that it is ‘holistic’ – the word yoga actually means the union of mind and body.

Mats and props are provided and you will be learning in a safe and comfortable environment.

Investment for this course is just £40 for the 6 week block.
*Early bird – if you pay for the course in full by 16th April, the cost will be £35.
